STEP 1 Experience Nexus for yourself

There are three ways to get started:

  1. See a live demo: Schedule a live demonstration of Nexus and we'll walk you through anything you wish to see and answer your specific questions.
  2. Kick the tires: Get a free trial demo of Nexus and play with it on your own.
  3. Purchase Nexus: Either purchase outright or lease the package of your choice.

STEP 2 Choose your installation type

You have two options with install type:

  1. Local LAN installation This is our most high performance, highest uptime solution. No internet required. (recommended)
  2. Cloud Based Nexus runs over the internet and all your data is stored on the cloud.

STEP 3 What you need (hardware basics)

Local Installation

  • Main PC / server

    Intel i7+ or Ryzen 7+ eight core minimum
    Windows 10 or 11
    16gb RAM minimum
    1tb SSD minimum (do not use NVMe drives)
    RAID recommended (not required)
    Microsoft Excel required

  • Secondary computers
    Tablets or secondary computers can be low performance

Cloud-Based Installation

  • All computers can be mid-low performance
  • High-speed internet connection (20mbps down, 20mbps up minimum)

Already have hardware? We can let you know if it will be compatible. Otherwise, we'll provide you with an Amazon shopping list!

STEP 4 Get Nexus Installed
We will provide you with a PDF guide, this information is only for reference, not specificity

  1. Download & install TeamViewer on all of your computers. We will install Nexus after-hours as to not disturb your business.
  2. Connect your devices install any manufacturer drivers
  3. Add your yard info (name, address, logo).
  4. Set up products (metals, pricing rules, fees, taxes); or provide us with an Excel or CSV of your materials.
  5. Set up customers Provide us with an Excel or CSV of your customers and we can import them!.

STEP 5 Go-live checklist
  • Peripherals set up and verified.
  • Products/prices/customers entered
  • Scale reads stable and correct (tare/gross/net) and configured in Nexus
  • Cameras set up (if used) cameras set up with static IP addresses and set up within Nexus
  • Payment types enabled (cash/check/other as required)
  • State reporting credentials verified and configured (if applicable)
  • Admin + user accounts created
  • Backup/export location set
  • State reporting: LeadsOnline and similar platforms
  • Texas: Cash card setup and required reports
  • Ohio: Do-Not-Buy checks + DHS reporting
  • Vehicle: NMVTIS/DMV requirements handled in Vehicle Recycling


Once these items mare verified, you are ready to schedule training and go live!

STEP 6 Training (short and sharp)
  • Buyer training (15–30 min): weights, pricing, tickets, payouts
  • System wide training (30–60 min): products, users, inventory, workflow, templates, reporting
  • Sales training (15 min): sales and shipments

Have existing customers and products? We can help you bring the basics over so you’re not starting from scratch. Or start clean and build as you go—your call.

Timeline you can plan around
  • Small yard go-live: 1–2 days (5 day maximum)
  • Large yard go-live: 3–5 days

FAQs

Do I have to pick one buying screen forever?
No. Start with the fastest fit, switch to others anytime you wish.

Will it work with my scale?
If your indicator exposes serial/USB/IP, you’re 99% there. We'll provide you with simple instructions and then we’ll confirm during setup.

Can I run this on a tablet?
Yep—Windows tablets run Nexus great.

Can I use Apple/Mac?
No, sorry!

What if I’m not ready for cameras / scales / etc.?
No problem. Start simple. Add hardware later.
